MEET THE FOUNDER.
Hello – I’m Jeanette. As a US-native, Spanish speaker, and Jiu-Jitsu black belt, I did not know my life’s journey would lead me to rescuing animals.
As you can imagine, being a full-time rescue is not a glamorous job. It’s a silent war we are fighting on behalf of the animals, and every day I’m motivated by the fact that these animals once belonged to someone. It is my duty and passion to give these animals the opportunity to live whole and happy lives.
I live full time with the dogs we save in Kern County, California and my life is fully encompassed by the rescue work. My alarm clock is the sound of dogs barking in the morning and I drop whatever I’m doing to get in the field and rescue dogs in immediate need.
After being in rescue for over a decade, my focus is turning to the idea of “rescuing the rescuers” and establishing resources for rescuers so we can serve more animals. We shouldn’t have to toss and turn at night because we don’t know where the next dollar will come from to feed the animals and provide medical care. This is also a massive undertaking and the government must play a role in it, period! I am passionate about making all rescuers “Rescue Rich” so more animals can be saved.
I hope you continue to watch and support us through our journey.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Thankfully, through everyone’s efforts, and by continually making the community aware of the issues through education, we have reduced the euthanasia rate in our area by nearly fifty percent. We hope you’ll consider donating to keep this journey alive and help us save more animals. We’re only scratching the surface of rescue and there’s a lot more work to do.
Thank you to our community and supporters. We would not be able to do it without you.
– Jeanette
